How To Remove The Hand Icon From Shared Resources..?
As we have to keep our data secret and safe we are following too many ways to do that.
In such a way we can follow this step too. This can hide the sharing symbol from the shared Drives, Folders and Files etc..,
Then users can’t identify that which folders are shared and which are not. To do this restriction follow these steps.
1. Start Regedit Through Run Command
2. Click Start
3. Select Run Command
4. Type Regedit
5. Click OK
Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT / Network
6. Open SharingHandler.
7. Clear it’s default value
8. Restart Windows.
9. To restore set Default value “msshrui.dll”.

The mentioned data about Hand Icon removing from the shared drive was very useful for me but when I have restored it by giving the default value “msshrui.dll”. which it stated above, is not restoring the default value. After that I have given the default value “ntshrui.dll”. It works as I have the Operating System “Windows XP version 2002 sp 3.
